Yesterday, President Trump signed an Executive Order (EO) titled “Expanding Access to In Vitro Fertilization.” As a nonprofit committed to supporting and advocating for all those facing fertility challenges, AllPaths Family Building is following this matter closely.
The EO directs the President’s Domestic Policy team to develop recommendations within 90 days to “protect IVF access and aggressively reduce out-of-pocket and health plan costs for IVF treatment.” Acknowledging the disparities in access across the nation, as well as the financial and emotional struggles of infertility, is an important step, but it’s crucial to understand that this order itself does not create immediate change. For years, our organization has been at the forefront of efforts to protect and expand access to fertility care and family building. We have successfully advocated with our partners for fertility and family building policies that reflect the standard of care. AllPaths remains committed to ensuring that fertility care, including IVF, is accessible to ALL.
We stand ready to assist as policy recommendations take shape and we will continue to push for meaningful action that goes beyond words and leads to positive changes.
