Janene Oleaga, Esq., Chair, Advocacy Committee

A family formation attorney and reproductive rights advocate, Janene founded Oleaga Law LLC to guide and protect her clients as they navigate surrogacy arrangements, egg/sperm donation, embryo donation, embryo disposition, and all methods of securing legal parentage including confirmatory adoptions and pre-birth/post-birth judgments of parentage.

In addition to helping her clients grow their families Janene is an active advocate in support of pro-family legislation at state and federal levels, testifying that everyone has a right to grow their families regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, or genetic connection. Janene was awarded 40 Under 40 by Maine Business for her advocacy efforts in Maine, and has been a legal resource to Out magazine, Good Housekeeping, Shape magazine, Refinery29, and more. Janene is a board member of the BIVF Foundation, and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s Legal Professional Group, the ABA Assisted Reproduction and Adoption Committee, National LGBTQ Bar Association, Men Having Babies, and more.
