Being in your work environment while going through a family building journey can bring up different emotions for everyone, including stress and sadness. For instance, some might be nervous to communicate with their employers or unsure how to seek support and help throughout this time. Fortunately, companies are increasingly recognizing the value in supporting employees who are trying to grow their families and providing the benefits needed to help them do so. Some employers are incorporating ways to support employees, and their needs, during their journey.

In recent years, Liberty Mutual Insurance has been recognized for their approach to employee benefits and their focus on not only professional connection and development within their community, but also on their support for their employees’ personal goals, including family building. Lauren Delaney, Assistant Vice President and Manager, Global Talent Practices & Services Operations, reports that Liberty Mutual has launched a group within their employee resource group called Pathways to Parenthood, which creates a safe space, provides allyship, raises awareness, and builds community.
