The recent decision by the United States Supreme Court to overturn the case of Roe v. Wade has left a lot of people wondering how fertility treatment and family building, particularly through adoption, will be impacted. This includes fertility patients and others eager to grow their families, as well as medical providers (and attorneys too!).

If you spend any time on social media, you’ve surely seen the talk about the impact of the Supreme Court decision on in vitro fertilization (IVF). People are asking things like “Can I still do IVF?”, “What will happen to my extra embryos?”, and “Can my surrogate still get an abortion if medically necessary?”. There has also been a lot of chatter over at the Supreme Court about how adoption would be impacted if abortion were not as readily accessible.

We are going to tackle these questions and more on November 19th at our 29th annual Resolve New England Conference. Join legal and medical experts in the family building space to hear what’s actually happening to fertility treatment and family building options in the New England region, and hopefully set your mind at ease. As RNE’s Advocacy Committee Chair, I am looking forward to moderating a distinguished panel, consisting of Dr. Aaron Styer, founding partner/co-medical director of CCRM Boston, Ellen Trachman, Esq., Managing Attorney at Trachman Law Center, LLC, and Dr. Andrea Pelletier, OB/GYN and Medical Director at Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.

Whatever family building paths you are exploring, we are confident that the Conference will give you knowledge and support to help you move forward. We also know the panel will reassure you that there are many of us fighting hard to protect reproductive health care.

If you’d like to submit questions in advance, please email us at with the subject line “Dobbs Panel.”

Thank you to everyone who submitted questions for our panel! See the full discussion here and be sure to visit our YouTube channel for more content from past Conferences.
